Unit 3 – The Formation of Attachments (2)
Understand the different types of attachment and how they influence behaviour. The module continues with real-life examples and psychological research.

Unit 4 – Consequences of Breakdowns in Attachments
Explore the emotional and behavioural impacts of disrupted or insecure attachments. This includes the long-term effects on social and mental development.

Unit 5 – Influences on Development
Examine how genetics, environment, culture, and family shape a child’s growth. The module highlights both internal and external developmental influences.

Unit 6 – Social and Emotional Development
Understand how children develop relationships, self-awareness, and emotional control. The unit covers key stages in building social and emotional intelligence.

Unit 7 – Personality Development
This unit looks at how a child's personality forms over time. It includes factors such as temperament, parenting styles, and early life experiences.

Unit 8 – Language Development
Learn how children acquire language skills from infancy through adolescence. This includes verbal and non-verbal communication and the stages of speech development.

Unit 9 – Moral Development
Explore how children learn right from wrong and develop ethical thinking. The unit covers moral reasoning, empathy, and values at different ages.

Unit 10 – Problems in Infancy
Identify common psychological and developmental problems in infants. This includes feeding issues, attachment concerns, and early signs of delay.

Unit 11 – Problems in Childhood
Understand behavioural and emotional challenges that arise during childhood. Topics include anxiety, aggression, learning difficulties, and peer issues.

Unit 12 – Problems in Adolescence
Learn about psychological problems teenagers may face, such as identity issues, stress, and depression. The unit covers behavioural change and support strategies.

The Diploma in Child Psychology QLS Level 4 opens doors to a wide range of rewarding careers in child development and mental health. Graduates can pursue roles such as child psychologist assistant, childcare worker, teaching assistant, youth worker, or family support worker. This course is also valuable for professionals in education, counselling, social work, or healthcare who wish to specialise in child behaviour. It provides a solid foundation for further studies in psychology or child development and supports progression into advanced roles in child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) or educational psychology settings.
