Certificate in Construction Management QLS Level 3

The Certificate in Construction Management consists of 6 modules. They are:

Unit 1: Construction Management - An Introduction

The course kickstarts with a broad overview of what construction management entails. In this unit, core concepts of construction management are explicitly explained. Also, candidates are made to understand the various roles and responsibilities of construction managers.

Unit 2: Organization of Construction Projects

Unit 2 lays the foundation for excellent organisational skills with a detailed analysis of the organisation of construction projects. Candidates are exposed to the secrets of well-planned construction projects and learn how to plan projects from the project initiation phase down to the project closing phase.  

Unit 3: Cost Estimation

Candidates’ knowledge is further deepened with a look at cost estimation in construction projects which explores the importance of accurate cost estimation, factors to consider such as materials and workforce, and the methods to use in order to arrive at an accurate estimate.

Unit 4: Site Organisation in the Construction industry

The fourth unit is an in-depth study of the concept of organisation in the construction industry. In this unit, the factors that should be put into consideration such as accommodation, equipment and material storage, water and electricity, budget dispensing etc., are revealed.

Unit 5: Management of Construction Materials

The lack of adequate management of construction material can mar the success of a construction project. Hence, this unit looks into how construction materials can be effectively managed through on-time repair and maintenance services, inventory taking and tracking and stock planning.

Unit 6: Human Resource Management in Construction Industry

This course wouldn’t be complete without an in-depth look into Human Resource Management. This concluding unit equips candidates with the communication, conflict resolution, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills that are the hallmarks of a successful player in the construction industry.

The completion of the Certificate in Construction Management paves the way for a thrilling life-long experience in the construction sector. Candidates have an array of job options and may be able to find work as site engineers, inventory managers, project coordinator, with a salary averaging £30,000 per annum.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
