Unit 1 – What are Disabilities

Unit 2 – Accessibility

Unit 3 – Encouraging Diversity by Hiring

Learners will explore how inclusive hiring practices benefit organizations and promote diversity. The unit highlights strategies to attract and support employees with disabilities.

Unit 4 – Communication Essentials for Disability Awareness

This unit teaches effective communication skills to interact respectfully and clearly with people with disabilities. It emphasizes empathy, active listening, and adapting communication styles.

The Certificate in Disability Awareness QLS Level 2 prepares learners for roles that require a strong understanding of disability inclusion and accessibility. Graduates can pursue careers in human resources, community support, social services, healthcare, education, and nonprofit organizations focused on disability advocacy. This qualification is ideal for those seeking positions such as disability support worker, inclusion coordinator, diversity officer, or customer service representative in inclusive workplaces. It also provides a foundation for further study or professional development in disability services, accessibility consulting, and workplace diversity management, helping individuals advance their careers in creating more inclusive environments.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
