This course consists of following units:

Unit 1 – An Introduction to Interior Design
This unit provides an overview of the interior design field and its real-world applications. It introduces key roles, responsibilities, and the impact of good design.

Unit 2 – Interior Design Decorating Principles
Learn the core decorating principles such as balance, harmony, and contrast. These concepts help you create visually appealing and functional interiors.

Unit 3 – Design Elements
Understand the essential elements like colour, texture, form, and space. This unit teaches how to use them effectively in interior design projects.

Unit 4 – Room Elements
Explore the key components that make up individual rooms, such as lighting, flooring, and furniture. Learn how to combine these elements to enhance each space.

Unit 5 – Room by Room Designing
Develop skills to design different types of rooms with a focused approach. This includes layout, function, and styling for each specific space.

Unit 6 – The Client - Designer Relationship
Discover how to build strong client relationships through clear communication. Learn to understand client needs, manage expectations, and present ideas professionally.

Unit 7 – Planning Essentials
Gain practical knowledge in planning and organising interior design projects. This includes setting budgets, timelines, and sourcing materials efficiently.

Unit 8 – Stages of a Project
Learn the step-by-step process involved in completing a design project. This covers everything from initial concept to final execution and review.

Unit 9 – Starting up an Interior Design Business
Understand what it takes to launch and manage a successful interior design business. Topics include branding, marketing, client acquisition, and legal basics.

The Diploma in Interior Design QLS Level 4 opens up a variety of career opportunities in the creative design industry. Graduates can pursue roles such as interior designer, home stylist, decorator, or design consultant. The course also prepares learners to work in residential, commercial, or retail design projects, or offer freelance services. With knowledge in project planning and client management, learners can move into project coordination or design team leadership roles. Additionally, the final unit supports those interested in starting their own interior design business, making it ideal for aspiring entrepreneurs in the design field.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
