Certificate in Fashion Design QLS Level 1

Level one course in Fashion Design encompasses three modules;

Unit 1: An Overview of Fashion Design

The course starts by introducing candidates to the fashion industry, design trends and how it affects the style and mode of dressing over a period of time. Candidates are given the opportunity to improve on their creativity, vision and artistic skills to widen their horizon.

Unit 2: Key Principles and Element of Design

This unit explores the fundamental principles and element of design. It expatiates on each element of design which is color, line, texture and shape. Also the principles of design which are emphasis, repetition, harmony and balance are elaborated.

Unit 3: Importance of Color in Fashion and Dress Designing

The concluding unit discusses the proper use of color in correspondence to Fashion Design. Candidates consider the selection of colors that commensurate different design. Candidates also learn about color clashes, blocking and cohesion.

The first level of this course provides basic knowledge of the Fashion Industry and this creates a pathway for achieving higher level of knowledge. Certified candidates have the choice of either going into entrepreneurship or working for an already established fashion house with a starting salary of $36,500.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
