Certificate in Construction Management QLS Level 2

The construction management course consists of the following 4 units.

Unit 1: Introduction to Construction Management

The certificate in construction management begins with the key concepts, purposes, and principles of construction management. The unit further looks extensively at the rudimental basis of construction management, introducing candidates to the very important roles played by the construction manager in executing various types of projects. Candidates also learn how to build a project organisational chart.

Unit 2: Development and Organisation of Construction Projects

The development and organisation of construction projects form the core of Unit 2. Here, candidates are enlightened on the fundamentals of the project development cycle. In addition, candidates are exposed to different project delivery method and technological advances necessary to effective organisation of construction projects

Unit 3: Equipment Management

This unit covers the effective management of construction equipment. The role of equipment in the timely completion of projects is also hammered on. Candidates are taught techniques of effectively balancing costs accrued from the use of equipment against the projects’ budget and timeline.

Unit 4: Material Management

 The course concludes with candidates being taught the fundamentals of material management.  The unit reveals the integrated process and effective strategies needed to identify, acquire, rent, transport, receive and store materials during construction projects. The effect of poor material management on the success of a project is also expounded on.

Placed on high demands and interestingly lucrative, a career in construction management requires a deep understanding of the basics of construction – which candidates will get on completing this course.

Candidates can then pursue a wide range of careers including Assistant Project Manager, Site Manager, Project Manager, Building Inspector, Construction Assistant, Construction Coordinator, Construction Supervisor, Construction Manager and so on.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
