The Diploma in Project Management consists of the following 5 units:

Unit 1:  An overview of Project Management

The first unit introduces candidates to the concept of business projects and project management, along with the roles of various project management professionals. The benefits of project management to organisations are also explained.

Unit 2: Phases of Project Life Cycle

In unit 2, candidates investigate the project life cycle. Each of the core components of the cycle – initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closure is comprehensively explored in great detail. The life cycle describes high-level processes for delivering successful projects.

Unit 3: Planning Tools

Unit three introduces a variety of essential tools such as Logic Network, PERT chart, Gantt chart, product breakdown structure and work breakdown structure for professional project planning. It also takes candidates through the importance of teamwork, core elements of projects scheduling and preparation.

Unit 4: Working on a project

This unit teaches candidates how to plan, budget, oversee and document all aspects of a project. Candidates are able to use target chart, investigate project deliverables and S.W.O.T analysis is also covered.

Unit 5: What is Project Risk Management?

Candidates are taught the process of identifying, analysing, prioritising, assigning, responding and monitoring risk that crops up over the life cycle of a project to help the project remain on track and achieve its goal.

Candidates that have completed this course will be able to pursue endless career opportunities in top industries such as engineering and construction, financial services, law and in technology. Newbies can start as junior project managers, business analysts or market researchers. Salaries range from £20,000 for new starters to £100,000 for chief operational officers.

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from the Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the components the learner has completed as part of the course).
