Information Management

Information management is the process of collecting and managing the information from a single or different sources and sharing of that information to an individual or more than one audience. Information can be obtained from different sources but it need to be useful, selective, managed and well-administered then it should be delivered.

The purpose of the information management is to plan, to manage, to use the information with insight and creativity, to encourage the decision making and to set value for individuals, associations, communities and societies.

The unit addresses the Key Components of a System and describes the six easy steps of managing information including a look at processing e-mail messages.

After the completion of this course learners will be able to:

  • Develop a plan for an efficient workspace, including a customized information center and a filing system
  • Apply a system that will allow them to process any type of information that crosses their desk
